How Many Motes of Light Are There in Destiny 2: The Final Shape?
Players have to obtain 17 Motes of Light in Destiny 2: The Final Shape to get the exotic Khvostov. nine are from Overthrow bosses and eight from the collectible Visions of the Traveler. The process of getting them can be a bit time-consuming. Furthermore, players need to rely on some luck as the Overthrow bosses are random spawns. Below are the different ways to get the Motes of Light.
Motes of Light from Overthrow Bosses
Players need to defeat all nine bosses in the Overthrow activity in The Pale Heart to get nine Motes of Light. The activity can take some time and players need to complete all three phases to spawn a boss in that area. The bosses are random spawns, so players must do the activity over to get the other two in the area. It is recommended that you write down which bosses have been defeated. Additionally, also writing down where you beat them will help significantly. Below is a table to help you with all of the Overthrow bosses:
| The Landing | The Blooming | The Impasse |
| 1. Ir Okmarr, Devoted to Savathun 2. Nolakh, Star-Eater 3. Mharuk, Sky-Stealer | 4. Voxelos, Taken by the Witness 5. Kholon, Taken by the Witness 6. Koftiks, Taken by the Witness | 7. Rhuna, Subjugator of Chasms 8. Rhaska, Subjugator of Thresholds 9. Araaxen, Reverent of the Witness |
Once players have defeated all of the above bosses, they will have nine Motes of Light. Recently, the Koftiks boss in The Blooming was removed due to a quest bug. However, a fix has since been made, and the enemy boss is back in the game.

Vision of the Traveler #2

Vision of the Traveler #3
- Location: The Refraction
Spawn at The Blooming and head to the area called The Refraction through the connecting path. On your map, head to the curve in The Refraction that begins to turn left towards The Landing. Vision of the Traveler #4
- Location: The Blooming
Spawn at The Blooming and head directly south towards the path leading to The Seclusion. At the entrance to the path are a couple of dead trees. Climb up these trees to the right side, and on the top of the one closest to the path entrance is the Vision of the Traveler.

Vision of the Traveler #5
- Location: Searing Light Cyst mission
Upon starting the Searing Light Cyst mission, continue into it. Just before the fiery-looking room where the Hive totem is, there is a room with a big tree in the middle. In the tree room, look to the right side for a small hole to jump into. Located in this spot is the fifth Vision of the Traveler.

Vision of the Traveler #6
- Location: The Divide
This Vision of the Traveler takes some trekking to get to. Players must go all the way up the snowy mountain section of The Divide. The path is the same one that you must take while completing The Final Shape mission “Assent.” Upon getting to the very top, you will see the path ramp down into the building. Instead of going down the ramp, jump up to the left where the radar dish is. Behind the dish is the Vision of the Traveler.

Vision of the Traveler #7
- Location: The Impasse
Once you have spawned in at The Impasse, head to the east. The area you are looking for is where the Overthrow mission to clean up the Taken Blights occurs. The Vision of the Traveler is inside the ring that rises from a red and white pillar.

Vision of the Traveler #8
- Location: The Transgression
Head to the very end of The Transgression location. Players can head into it directly from Traveler #7. The area you are looking for is orange-tinged and has various trees in it. The correct room has a tree sitting in the middle. Once you see this particular tree, head to the left, where a red light bar is, with two more trees on a ledge. Behind the tree on the left is the Vision of the Traveler.

Where to Take All of The Motes of Light in Destiny 2: The Final Shape?
