For years, players have wanted to step into Zelda’s shoes and experience a heartfelt journey through her eyes. That dream has finally come true, as the recently announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom promises a unique entry focused entirely around Zelda. However, while the upcoming game is all about Zelda, some players are curious about whether Link will be playable.
Is Link Playable in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
Yes, Link has been officially confirmed as a playable character in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The game’s ESRB rating has confirmed that the hero of Hyrule will be playable in its description. It states, “As Link, players use a sword and arrows to defeat enemies.” This short line has told players what to expect from Link when playing as him. It seems to fit his classic fighting style but in a cutesy manner.
We did see a glimpse of Link’s sword-swinging abilities at the beginning of the trailer. However, it’s hard to tell how much of Link we get to play. Players could possibly only play him in the beginning before getting engulfed by the ominous purple rift, as seen in the trailer. This could potentially branch out, and players could play as both Zelda and Link in different story arcs. However, we won’t know for sure until more information is officially announced. Some enemies can be defeated by being set on fire; other creatures dissolve into mist when defeated. Battle sequences are somewhat frenetic, with several enemies attacking/fighting at once.”
