Player throwing a knife in Destiny 2 The Final Shape

Bungie Apologizes For Rocky Destiny 2: The Final Shape Launch

Bungie has issued an apology for the rocky launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape after players were booted from the game and missed out on important cutscenes.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape has finally launched, and it’s generating a lot of buzz. Unfortunately, not for the right reasons. Players have been kicked from the game, prevented from even starting, forced to miss important cutscenes, and so much more. Issue warnings like Currant, Cloudberry, Cacao, and more are spreading like wildfire. Just check any guide-based site, and you’ll see “How to Fix X Issue in Destiny 2.” It’s bad. Fortunately, Bungie is on it and has been fairly consistently and quickly crushing these issues. To sweeten the pot, it also apologized, promising players that things are going to get better.

Bungie Apologizes For Destiny 2: The Final Shape Issues

Bungie has formally apologized for the botched Destiny 2: The Final Shape launch after players suffered through some truly mind-boggling issues. In a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), Bungie explained that it had “built The Final Shape to be an exciting, cathartic, story-driven adventure for everyone to enjoy” but that it was “truly sorry if connection issues and instability is getting in the way of that experience.”

Of course, for some players who have been waiting for the potentially final Destiny 2 DLC for quite some time, this may not be good enough. It does seem like Bungie has a hard time drumming up positive press for its online shooter. Nevertheless, it’s always good to see a developer take responsibility for its game. Especially when it’s in as rough a shape as The Final Shape.

Fortunately, it seems like the DLC itself is proving to be a worthwhile adventure, technical issues aside. With the introduction of the incredibly fun Prismatic class, alongside a fairly lengthy campaign, fans have plenty to look forward to. We’re certain that these issues will be ironed out shortly. Of course, hopefully it is in time for the release date of the first Episode of The Final Shape. Have you been affected by these issues? Let us know in the comments below.
