Zenless Zone Zero: Should You Pick Belle or Wise?

Zenless Zone Zero gives you the choice of two playable characters at the start: Belle or Wise. But which one should you play as?

Like all HoYoverse games, players are given the choice of either a male or female protagonist to play as in Zenless Zone Zero. This time, they’re siblings called Belle and Wise. Of course, making the choice may be a little daunting, especially if you don’t know the differences between them. Fortunately, we’ve broken it all down for you below and suggested which character you should pick.

Should You Pick Belle or Wise in Zenless Zone Zero?

You should pick whichever character you prefer, as it won’t affect gameplay at all. Outside of exploring the game’s small hub world, you won’t control either Belle or Wise in combat. The only substantial difference between the two characters is that Wise is the male character, and Belle is the female character. Outside of their visual differences, there are no gameplay benefits for picking one character over the other. So, just go with your gut and pick whoever you prefer.

Of course, you could pick based on their voice actors. Belle’s English voice actor is Courtney Steele, and her Japanese VA is Sayaka Senbongi. Wise, on the other hand, is voiced by Stephen Fu in English and Atsushi Abe in Japanese. There are other small differences, which we’ll list below, although, again, these do not affect gameplay at all:

• They each have their own wallpapers you can select for the main menu. You get the one of the character you pick
• You’ll get access to a different bedroom depending on who you pick
• Whoever you pick will appear in cutscenes as the main character
• Whoever you don’t pick will take on a support role

Really, it doesn’t matter who you pick. At the end of the day, both Belle and Wise are Proxies who help guide the Agents (playable characters) when exploring the Hollow.
