Studio Ghibli-Like Adventure Game, Neva, Gets First Gameplay Trailer

The gorgeous new game from developer Nomada Studio and publisher Devolver Digital, Neva, has finally received its first gameplay trailer.

We knew it wouldn’t take much for Neva to blow us away, but its impressive new gameplay trailer absolutely surpassed our expectations. Developed by Nomada Studio, the folks behind the beautiful Gris, Neva is an action-packed adventure that was revealed last year. Fortunately, fans who have been eagerly anticipating this title can now see exactly what they’ll be up to in the gameplay trailer below.

Neva Gets First Gameplay Trailer at Summer Game Fest 2024

Neva received its very first gameplay trailer during the Summer Game Fest 2024 event. It looks absolutely gorgeous, featuring the same stunning art seen in Gris. In the trailer, we see the protagonist, Alba, and her wolf partner, Neva, explore otherworldly landscapes clearly inspired by the likes of Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke.

Alba is able to fight off the strange monsters attacking them at the start of the trailer with her sword. Later on, we see that Neva has grown into a fully-fledged wolf and is capable of helping Alba fight the monsters. It looks like an action-packed yet nevertheless incredibly emotional adventure. It’s not clear right now how much involvement you’ll have in the development of Neva, but it is apparent that it’ll be pivotal to the game’s story. Think The Last Guardian meets Princess Mononoke. So far, we don’t have a concrete release date for Neva. However, we do know that it’s releasing in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch.
