In what feels like a shocking turn of events, the gameplay reveal shows that Concord is going to be a 5v5 team-based multiplayer shooter. Players will pick various characters and compete against other teams in an arena-style setting. The current heroes we know of are Vale, Lennox, Haymar, Star Child, and 1-Off. Each of the characters features varying gameplay styles, from gunslingers like Lennox to the more magic-focused Haymar. However, when the game fully launches later in the summer, the roster is going to feature 16 unique characters.
While we don’t know about other game modes coming with Concord, it seems the title is following in the footsteps of Overwatch in many ways. When the beta launches, we can expect to see more of the full scope of what game modes players will be able to experience in Concord. The game is looking to introduce more content in free, post-launch updates. Additions such as new characters, maps, modes, and much more. Accompanying the game each week is also going to be new cinematics that aim to push the narrative forward for players geared toward the story.
