TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge has a new mode launching with the Dimensional Shellshock DLC later this year, and fans should definitely be excited!
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has been making a big comeback in recent years. With a new film and TV series, Shredder’s Revenge, The Cowabunga Collection, and the announcement of TMNT: The Last Ronin, the series is becoming quite popular again.
Now, Canadian-based developer Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu have revealed details on a new mode coming to the fantastic beat ’em up, Shredder’s Revenge.
What Is TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge?
Developed by Tribute Games in June 2022, the beat ’em up is a spiritual successor to older TMNT arcade games. Playing as everyone’s favorite character from the franchise, players must defeat Shredder by conquering a series of levels. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge offers players the chance to level up the individual characters, and, in the process, learn new skills and give character bonuses to aid in harder playthroughs.
The game was greatly received with over 94% of its Steam reviews being positive. Plus, the community for the game grew even further when it was offered on the PlayStation Plus catalog in June. Also in June, the development announced that an expansion was coming to the game.
What is the New Mode?
The Dimensional Shellshock DLC was announced last month and will give access to a lot of new content. Players will receive new skins for the characters already in the game, another character in the form of a rabbit master, Miyamoto Usagi, and a fresh mode.
A survival mode is being added to the game, giving players a great amount of replayability with Shredder’s Revenge. The mode has players leaping between unique dimensions while trying to survive as long as possible.
Players will be growing stronger as they progress and collect a currency known as crystals. When a run is ended, they can then use the crystals to help level their character by unlocking an extra life, ninja power bars, a Radical Mode, and extra hit points.

As of now, there have been no pre-orders or price details given for the Dimensional Shellshock DLC of Shredder’s Revenge. The current release window for the DLC is 2023.
