The New Caledonian Morphing Adventure, Tchia, Arrives in 2022

Today during the PlayStation Showcase, Awaceb announced a partnership with Sony and Epic Games and released a new tropical adventure trailer for Tchia.

“A lot has happened since The Game Awards reveal of Tchia in December.” shared Awaceb co-founder Phil Crifo. “While we were hard at work on our game, our partnership with Google Stadia ended up not working out. Thankfully, PlayStation and Epic Games reached out soon after. They were super excited about the game, and our visions aligned perfectly. We all agreed that Tchia would be a great fit on both platforms!”

Awaceb is an independent video game development studio based in Bordeaux, France. However, many members of the team are from New Caledonia, and that’s where the inspiration for Tchia comes from. You can read more about the game here.

The new trailer showcases a glimpse into the stunning world of Tchia. From playing the ukulele to morphing into different animals to experience the vast landscape, there is plenty to experience in the game. Players will have the opportunity to explore New Caledonia’s rich culture and tradition through Tchia’s adventure. However, it’s not all sun and rainbows. Players will need to confront a mysterious threat that looms over the islands. Honestly, we can’t wait.

After the announcement today, Tchia is set to release on PC, PS4, and PS5 sometime next year.
