Publisher Skybound Games and developer Mighty Yell have announced their 90’s nostalgia-filled adventure game, The Big Con, is coming to Xbox and PC this Summer.
The Big Con is a “teenage grifting adventure game” with a focus on that oh-so satisfying nostalgia we all get when we watch 90’s sit-coms and adverts. This is the debut title of developer Mighty Yell, but not the first rodeo for publisher Skybound Games. They’ve published titles such as the almost perfect Before Your Eyes, and the incredibly popular The Walking Dead: Telltale Series. The Big Con has already begun receiving commendations as it has been named an “Official Selection” for Tribeca Games. Dave Proctor, the Game Director at Mighty Yell spoke about the fun the team had making The Big Con.
“Making The Big Con has been an absolute blast. It’s really been an incredible experience for our team that while trying to make our players laugh, we have made each other laugh just as much. I’m really excited for more people to get their hands on the game; to see this wild, rad trip into the 90’s we’ve created and hopefully have some fun (and maybe some feelings) along the way.”

What Is The Big Con?
The Big Con is a coming-of-age story about Ali. She’s a young grifter who sets out to save her mom’s video store from unscrupulous loan sharks by any means necessary. Those means include picking locks and pockets, sneaking around in the most convincing of disguises and even profiting off of the latest plushie fad. There’s a lot to unpack here, as The Big Con is being touted as an “open-ended adventure with punchy puzzles and dialogue”. So, I’ve compiled a list of some of what you can expect when The Big Con releases this Summer:
- Experience a hilarious nostalgia-filled narrative about a young girl and her quest to save her video store
- Engage in open-ended situations, solve tricky puzzles and explore vibrant locations
- Live the life of a grifter, pick pockets, sneak around, wear disguises and con absolutely everyone who’ll fall for it
- Meet a colourful cast of characters ripe with opportunities to rip them off. Or if you’re feeling kind you can help them. But where’s the fun in that?
Release Date & Price
