Wizards of the Coast have just unveiled their exciting Summer of Legend event, a season-long set of product releases. Whether online or on tabletop, strap in and prepare yourselves for a host of new experiences coming this season! Read on below for a breakdown of what to expect.

Modern Horizons 2

Magic: The Gathering fans rejoice, your newest booster pack is on the way!

The Summer of Legend is kicking off with Modern Horizons 2 , a pack that will give players more ways to collect and explore the format’s newest cards. Expect several new bundles alongside the Draft booster, including the Set Booster, Collector Booster, Bundle and Prerelease Packs.

Enjoy your games in style with special card frames, such as retro frames and artist sketch cards. Additionally, players will see 42 new-to-Modern reprints, including the iconic Counterspell.

Look out for the set releasing on June 18th 2021!

Adventures in the Forgotten Realms

The Summer of Legend continues with a moment more than 25 years in the making…Wizards of the Coast are finally releasing Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, a new set for Magic: The Gathering.

Fans of Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering alike will be able to come together and celebrate when it releases on MTG Arena on July 8th 2021, and in local games worldwide on July 23rd 2021.

Dark Alliance

Back in March, Wizards of the Coast announced the release date of the new action RPG, Dark Alliance. Fans of Dungeons & Dragons can expect to see a host of well-known characters and monsters in impressive real-time combat and dynamic co-op gameplay.

Return of In-Store Play

As more of an announcement for our American readers, Wizards of the Coast are happy to reveal, that in-store Magic games are set to return from May 28th 2021.

Processes and guidelines will vary from store to store, based on local rules, but players can now, once again, look forward to Tuesday night drafting, Friday Night Magic, and Prerelease events!

For those in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Wizards of the Coast are currently assessing a phased approach to the return of in-store games in the coming months. Local government guidelines are being taken into account to ensure players return to stores safely in each country.

MTG Arena

Many new events are coming to the MTG Arena as part of the Summer of Legend! Here’s the rundown of what to expect and the dates for your calendar:
