An official tweet by the official Epic Games account announced earlier today that 4 of the games developed and owned by Riot Games are now on the Epic Games Store. The 4 games are League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and Valorant.
All of the aforementioned are free-to-play but require a separate Riot account to log in. After you purchase the game on the Epic Games storefront, Riot’s own client will be downloaded. From Riot’s unified client, you can launch each individual game to play.
Epic Games has also allowed users to download the itch.io client previously, so this isn’t the first time they have cut a deal with another company’s launch client.
League of Legends Fortnite Collaboration
To celebrate the conjoining of the two companies, Riot and Epic have collaborated to create a Fortnite character skin for the League of Legends character Jinx. This new skin will be available today, November 4, 2021. Riot has kept itself busy with promoting its upcoming animated series, Arcane, on Netflix and the 2021 Worlds Finals between Edward Gaming and Damwon in Iceland.
It seems quite counterintuitive to download the Epic Games client and then download the Riot Games client when you can just download Riot’s client directly. Nonetheless, this collaboration between the two will definitely amp up the popularity of Fortnite and League of Legends. It’s also nice to see Riot Games branch out and try something new, considering they have been mostly operating on their own for the past decade.

We’re excited they’ve chosen to partner with us to bring their titles to millions of new players through the Epic Games Store,”
