Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will offer a Zombies mode exclusively for one year to PlayStation owners. The new mode is called Zombies Onslaught, and it is similar to the standard modes, except you will fight zombies in multiplayer maps. Zombies Onslaught features two-players working together to kill waves of zombies who gradually get stronger.
According to PlayStation’s blog, players will be able to drop in using custom loadouts similar to traditional zombies or multiplayer.
Throughout Zombies Onslaught, you and your partner will be confined to specific spaces on the map due to the Dark Aether Orb. Killing zombies inside this area will power the orb. Kill enough zombies and the orb will move to a different location around the map. You must stay inside the orbs radius, otherwise, you will take Dark Aether damage. Will every “surge” there will be faster and more powerful zombies trying to bring you or your friend down.
These surges also bring in “Elites”. These zombies are stronger compared to regular zombies and will be the focus of the scoring system. After a game, you will receive either a Bronze, Silver or Gold ranking based on how many Elites you and your partner killed. Achieving certain ranks will allow you to unlock useful rewards in other game modes on Black Ops Cold War.
The Zombies Onslaught mode will exclusive to PS4 and PS5 until November 2021. But the normal Zombies 4-player co-op mode will still be available on all consoles, so there is no need to worry about that if you are not on a PlayStation.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release November 13 on all platforms, including next-gen consoles.
