PlayStation 5 Showcase Event: Complete Recap

The PlayStation 5 Showcase Event took place today with plenty of games on display as well as all the information regarding price and release date for the PlayStation 5.

The biggest mention during the Showcase Event was the release details regarding the PlayStation 5. The PS5 will release on November 12 for some countries* and will release a week later on November 19 for the rest. PS5 will match the Xbox Series X price at $499 (USD), but the PS5 Digital Edition will be $100 cheaper at $399 (USD). According to Geoff Knightley, creator of the Game Awards, pre-orders will be available tomorrow for the next-gen PlayStation. Pre-order is live now in Australia at Eb Games.

During the event we also received news of the PlayStation Plus Collection. This collection will be available for the PS5 at launch, allowing you to play all the games for free if you currently have a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (November 13)

They also announced Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer alpha starts this Friday 18/9 on PlayStation 4.

Demon’s Souls Remake (TBA)

The original Demon’s Soul is getting a massive overhaul for the PS5 and now you can get a closer look at this gorgeous remake. It will be a console exclusive at launch for a limited time. Also available on PC.

Devil May Cry 5 (November 12)

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will be available at launch for the PlayStation 5.

Final Fantasy XVI (TBA)

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach (TBA)

The bears are back in this reveal trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. It will launch on PlayStation exclusively for 3 months.

Fortnite (November 12)

Fornite will be available on the PS5 on launch day.

God of War: Ragnarok (2021)

God of War: Ragnarok is coming to PS5 in 2021.

Hogwarts Legacy (2021)

Hogwarts Legacy is an the RPG set in the Harry Potter universe. Free roam the world as you create your own legacy set in the Harry Potter universe.

Resident Evil 8: Village (2021)

Werewolves, witches, monsters and mystery abounds in this gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 8. Available in 2021.

Oddworld: Soulstorm (TBA)
