Maneater Is Swimming Onto The Nintendo Switch Later This Year

Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive have announced that their action-RPG Maneater will be launching for the Nintendo Switch later this year.

Launched back in May of 2020, Maneater is an action-RPG in which the player takes on the role of a shark. You must swim about devouring everything in your path in order to grow in both size and strength. Maneater went on to receive critical acclaim, scoring 70 on Metacritic, with many praising the shark based gameplay. Well, now that Maneater has devoured the PlayStation, Xbox and PC player base, it has set its eyes on the Nintendo Switch.

What Is Maneater?

Maneater is a self-titled “shARkPG”, otherwise known as an open-world action-RPG in which the player controls a man-eating shark. Starting off as a small bull shark pup, you must eat your way up the food chain, growing ever stronger as you do. You’ll encounter everything from wildlife to those pesky humans. It’ll be your job to survive the perils of your environment! Devour as much as you can so you can stay on top and best your adversaries! Do sharks have adversaries? I assume so. Here’s everything you can expect when Maneater drops onto the Nintendo Switch:

  • Swim and eat your way to the top, exploring seven large areas from resort beaches to the wide open ocean, and devouring everything that gets in your way
  • Evolve as you go, unlocking various Evolutions that allow you to “upgrade” your shark if you will
  • Experience a story-based campaign, centred around a reality TV show, narrated by the one and only Chris Parnell
  • Do your best to survive in your hard habitat, fending off against apex predators and human hunters!
