After the successful launch of their game, Joon Shining, developer Orchid of Redemption and publisher Lamplight Forest are happy to announce that it will be 10% off on Steam until next week.
Orchid of Redemption, a subsidiary of Lamplight Forest, is a small indie studio from Adelaide, Australia, focusing on creating humble games with heart. While this is their first Steam release, they are also working on The Wakers and Lifetime. Both of these games are available to wishlist on Steam.
What is Joon Shining?
Joon Shining is a physics-based platformer game with a magical twist that will challenge even the most skilled gamers. It combines traditional golf and mini-golf mechanics with puzzle–platforming elements to create a unique and engaging gameplay experience. You play as Joon, a young sorcerer, who travels through different worlds, mastering her arcane powers to solve challenging puzzles and uncover secrets.
The game introduces magical mechanics that allow you to influence shots mid-flight, using abilities such as fire, magic rings, and airstream enchantments. In addition to these abilities, you can also enchant environments to your advantage, grow plants into new platforms, and lure dangerous creatures away to clear a path forward.
As you progress through the game’s eight unique worlds, you will encounter a myriad of magical possibilities, secrets, and traps. Each environment has its own set of challenges that you must overcome, such as floating on clouds, bouncing off bubbles, or being propelled by explosions. Some puzzles even hide secret collectibles and lore tied to the game’s true ending.
You can expect the game to offer the following:

- Manipulate physics and magic elemental abilities
- Uncover secrets and the ingeniously elusive Mage Drops.
- 15-20 hours of gameplay.
Release Date and Price
Joon Shining, the challenging golf-like fantasy platformer, was released on February 18, 2023. After a successful launch, the game is currently on sale for 10% off its RRP of USD$19.99, €19.99, £16.99 and AUD$29.99. The sale runs from March 28th to April 4th.
