Ghost of Tsushima Is Getting A ‘Free’ Co-Op Mode

Suckerpunch has surprised the internet with a new online cooperative multiplayer mode for Ghost of Tsushima. Legends is set to release in the fall of 2020 (or spring in the southern hemisphere), completely free for those who already own Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is completely different from the original single-player experience and doesn’t follow Jin or any of his companions. Instead, it focuses on 4 warriors who have been represented as legends in Japanese folk tales told by the people of Tsushima.

Legends was created to be a co-op experience with up to 4 players. Players must select 1 of 4 classes: the Assassin, Hunter, Ronin, and Samurai. Each offers different abilities and advantages that Suckerpunch will reveal at a later date.

The action in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends alters depending on how many people you are playing with. If you have 2 players, then you can play a series of increasingly difficult story missions. Suckerpunch has stated there will be new magical twists that often require careful synchronization with your partner. Having 4 players lets you take on wave-based survival missions with new supernatural enemies that we haven’t seen before.

If you manage to manage to run out of things to do, Suckerpunch has confirmed that a raid will be coming to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Teaming up with 4 players, you are taken to a different realm to challenge a ‘brutal, terrifying enemy’.

PlayStation has confirmed that they will be sharing more details as we get closer to the release date of Legends.
