Retro Indie Horror, Sunshine Manor, Gets October Release Date

Fossil Games and Hound Picked Games have officially announced that their new retro indie horror, Sunshine Manor, will be coming to PC later this month.

Sunshine Manor was first proposed on Kickstarter in October 2020, and it received such a warm reception that the game was completed funded only 18 days later. With a brand new engine and plenty more 80’s horror film inspiration, the game will serve as a prequel to 2016’s Camp Sunshine.

What is Sunshine Manor?

Sunshine Manor is a retro horror that follows the misfortunes of Ada McReady. On Halloween night, she gets trapped inside the creepy Sunshine Manor. Ada quickly finds out that she’s not alone — there are ghosts, ghouls, and demons trying to thwart her escape. Luckily for her, though, she’s got the psychic powers to take them all out.

Who, or what is summoning all this evil? Will players help Ada solve the mystery? Or let her die by the hands of the mysterious Shadow Man watching her every move?

Below is a list of features included in the game:

  • A completely original 80s inspired soundtrack.
  • Gorgeous 8-bit pixel art, rendered in an all new engine.
  • A story-driven narrative with RPG elements.
  • Lots of scares and head-scratching puzzles.
  • Takes inspiration from classic 80s horror media such as The Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill.
