KOEI TECMO is happy to announce that the latest addition to the NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION series, NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Awakening, will release in July.
The NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION series, which was first introduced in 1983, has sold over 10 million units worldwide and has become a favourite among virtual military strategists across the globe. The latest game in the series, Awakening, is the 16th instalment in Kou Shibusawa’s esteemed historical simulation franchise and celebrates the series’ 40th anniversary. You can check out the trailer here.
What is NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Awakening?
NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Awakening puts players in the shoes of a daimyō, a powerful leader in 16th-century Japan, during the Warring States Period. Players must lead their clan and make strategic decisions in areas such as the economy, diplomacy, and military strength in order to unify the country. To achieve this, players can rely on their AI officers, known as retainers, who provide valuable advice and battle strategies.
Players will make policies that affect the entire clan and appoint landholders to develop domains independently. They can also appoint conservators and council officials to guide them in making decisions. Communication with officers is crucial, as direct talks with them can increase loyalty and lead to new strategies.
Sieges, a fan-favourite feature of the series, return in NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Awakening, but with new and dynamic gameplay. For the first time, sieges will take place on a single map with different types of terrain and unique castles or castle towns. Players must decide where to attack or deploy defensive equipment, adding a new level of strategy to the game.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series, NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Awakening includes new landmarks, achievements, and a variety of scenarios, events, and policies. Players can also use the editing function to customize officer status, background music, scenarios, or create new clans.
