Action-Horror Game, Bittersweet Birthday, Launches IndieGoGo Campaign

Indie publisher Pineapple Works and developer World Eater Games have announced the launch of their IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming title, Bittersweet Birthday.

Bittersweet Birthday, the action-adventure game with a horror twist, has launched its very own IndieGoGo campaign to help raise funds. With 31 days left to go, the campaign has rustled up £2,900/$4,015 of its £16,611/$23,000 goal. That’s a whopping 17% already funded across a very generous 61 backers. Well, if you want to get in on the ground floor, and help the developers out a little, then you can check out its very lengthy and detailed crowdfunding campaign here. But for those unsure of whether to pledge, here’s what Bittersweet Birthday is all about.

What Is Bittersweet Birthday?

Bittersweet Birthday is an action-adventure game with real-time combat and a deeply emotional narrative. The developers have compared it to games such as Undertale and the Zero Escape Series. So, that should give you some idea of what you’re getting yourself in for. This is a game all about mystery and intrigue set across a lavish and unsettling world. According to the developers:

“It’s got challegning combat and a story that will make you laugh and cry at the same time!”

Release Date & Price

You can head on over to the IndieGoGo campaign right now to pledge your support. The campaign will end in the next 31 days, so if you’re still unsure you have some time to think about it. Additionally, you can try out the game’s free demo over on Steam. It offers around 30 minutes to an hour and a half of gameplay according to the developers.

If you did want to support the crowdfunding campaign, there are a variety of options to choose from. Outside of simply donating because you want to, or to get your name in the credits, the next cheapest option is the Early Bird package. This costs £11/$15 and offers you wallpapers, your name in the credits and a digital copy of the game.

The most expensive option, should you be feeling generous, is the Party Pooper package. This costs £1,444/$2,000 and nets you a whole heap of goodies. If you pledge this amount, you’d get:

  • Artbook PDF
  • Beta access

The game will be releasing for PC and Nintendo Switch in Q4 2022.
